"Love is a harsh and dreadful thing to ask of us, but it is the only answer."--Dorothy Day

-4.

I was reading a blog today called BadChristian.com, just to see what it was all about. I enjoy the movement of Christians calling themselves bad in a good way. You know in the way that says "Maybe the way we've been going isn't exactly the way we should continue going. Maybe our government has made decisions that, contrary to what they say, are not in the best interest to the World's people." On the Web site there is a link to a quiz letting you know what kind of Christian you are. And I'm proud to annouce that I got a -4 on the test and am a Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Secular Humanist Worldview Thinker. WooHoo! What this means is that I don't believe that our government is divine, I think that money should not drive all decisions, and I think that gay and lesbian people should have rights.

If you feel compelled to take the test, let me know what you score. And don't worry, not everyone can get a -4.

Your classification is: Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Secular Humanist Worldview Thinker

Your score is: -16 points of 170 possible, -9%

I can't tell you how proud I am of this. Especially now that I know I'm even worse than you! Of course, I think once you hit the negative scores it's all pretty much the same anyhow...or perhaps there's a special level of hell especially for us Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Secular Humanist Worldview Thinkers?

What really galls me, though, is that I got +2 points for having to admit that GW is the President.

Yeah, you two are going to hell for sure. Or is this golf scoring? I'm only a Socialist Worldview Thinker, which puts me in the positive by 10 points.

Well, I put this off but I gave in today during my lunch break. Here goes...I'm with Jen. I'm a secular humanist. 49 points of 170 possible or 28%.

I'll see what I can do so that I can hang will all the cool communists.

(BTW, how many of you answered correctly the question about the Bible's take on money being the root of all evil? It's the love of money, not money itself. I was so proud of myself for knowing that. That MDiv did pay off!)

Um, that should read, "paid off." That grad degree obviously did nothing for my english.

FYI, you can write them and unsubscribe to the newsletter. I wrote a pointed unsubscribe me missive and received back a very gentle reply--really, the only positive thing I have to say about this organization. But it was impressive. In fact, I blogged about it way back when...but that was on the long-lost and sorely lamented "a few voices" and I don't think I can dig that up.

Or you can give them an e-mail address that you haven't checked in a few years. But they might then bump you down to a Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Secular Humanist Thinker. And we all know where they go. Better to get a daily e-mail than to burn, burn, burn.
